Editorial method

The clinical reasoning casebook presents 293 case-based analyses that explore diagnostic reasoning, evidence appraisal, communication, continuity, and systems safety across generalist medicine.

Original case construction

Each knowledge demonstration is constructed for this website from public medical evidence. The collection was developed without patient records and does not reproduce restricted course cases, assessment questions, answer explanations, or distinctive proprietary case sequences.

Clinical reasoning

Each case begins with a practical clinical question and works through the information that changes probability, the alternatives that matter, immediate safety concerns, and the next useful decision. The discussion makes uncertainty visible and includes communication, follow-up, and escalation when those factors affect safe reasoning.

Sources

Cases are grounded in publicly available guidance and evidence. Sources favor public-health agencies, government health services, professional organizations, evidence-based guidelines, systematic reviews, and primary research. Reference links appear with each case so readers can examine the underlying material.
